Redefining how goods move from point A to B: a case study on GADA, an end-to-end logistics brand

Gada was founded with a clear mission: to revolutionize logistics with an efficient and seamless delivery solution. Recognizing the growing challenges in the industry, the founders saw an urgent need for an end-to-end logistics platform that streamlines last-mile delivery. By seamlessly connecting retailers, customers, and riders in a digital marketplace, Gada aims to enhance logistics efficiency while providing a user-friendly ride-hailing experience. With a focus on smooth onboarding for riders, the platform is designed to simplify operations and elevate the delivery experience for all stakeholders.

Responding to an Emerging Challenge

Gada is a next-generation logistics platform designed to streamline the movement of goods with efficiency, transparency, and reliability. In a landscape where users often face delays, inefficiencies, and a lack of trust in delivery services, Gada emerges as a solution-driven platform. By prioritizing seamless user experiences, real-time tracking, and an intuitive interface, Gada aims to set a new standard in logistics, making it the go-to choice for businesses and individuals alike.

Findings

I conduct interviews with 10 merchants and courier app users to understand the lapses existing in the market and how to address it. 

80% of the users interviewed were skeptical about apps that asked them to save their debit cards on the platform for ease of payment

60% of the users interviewed emphasized the importance of real-time tracking and clear communication during the delivery process

70% of the users wanted to be able to easily add multiple delivery destinations to their delivery order.

All the users interviewed do not trust the courier to collect payment for merchandise on their behalf. However they need a way to seemlessly collect payment on delivery.

Creating Structure

Designing with the User in Mind

Quick sketching enabled me to explore familiar design patterns within the financial app space, helping identify which elements should be incorporated into Flap Africa to create a seamless user experience. This approach also helped highlighted multifunctional screen layouts and intuitive tap and swipe gestures, ensuring the app feels both modern and accessible for users managing their finances

High-fidelity design

The high-fidelity prototype for Flap Africa brought users closer to the actual experience, surfacing some key concerns. While users successfully navigated the onboarding process, the realistic feel raised questions about security, privacy, and transparency in fees. Users also expressed a need they hadn’t identified earlier: a way for the app to visually track and demonstrate the value they’re gaining from their savings, contributions, and transactions. This feedback revealed an opportunity to empower users with insights that would help them make more informed financial decisions.

How can we optimize usability for the app - what areas require long-term focus for sustained improvement?

Enhanced security by Implementing advanced security features like biometric authentication and two-factor authentication

Introduce an insights section that visually tracks user progress, calculates potential savings growth, and offers tips on reaching their goals.

Create a guided onboarding process with step-by-step instructions and visual cues.

Consider providing tooltips or tutorials for first-time users.
